The dream and vision of Cappella came to Kara on a Tuesday night in July 2009 when God told her that something exciting was about to happen. Kara's passion was to have a venue in the small town of Exeter to promote Christian indie bands who share the message in the music. Two days later the owner of the building that Cappella now occupies called Kara's dad and asked if we had any use for this building. After praying and hearing that God doesn't call the qualified, but qualifies the called, the Ramseier family, having no experience in the coffee business, stepped out in faith to open a Christian-themed coffee house.
Cappella means chapel, and is found particularly in the phrase "a cappella" for unaccompanied choral singing. The words chapel, cappella and Kapelle, indicate a musical establishment rather than a place, as in the English Chapel Royal, the musicians of the monarch. We believe we are all a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9)--the musicians and we serve the monarch--our King, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Cappella opened 6 weeks later on Septmber 17, 2009, which is an amazing testimony in itself! Our mission is simple--serve some great coffee and food while sharing the love of Jesus! The most amazing blessing of this business has been the relationships we have made with our customers . Thank you to all who have supported us in our mission and thank you to all the talented musicians who have given their time to share their message through the music!
